Along with her bonded brother Peanut, Cashew has experienced much loss and upheaval in the last year. She is uncertain what comes next and would benefit from a patient forever family to help her feel she belongs again. Despite it all, Cashew is gentle and happy to cuddle in a lap or, preferably, just sit near her family.
Cashew keeps her crate clean except for an occasional dribble when she's overly excited or nervous. She's a pro in the car and making good progress learning how to walk on a leash. 'Shew loves to relax with her brother and her people, and she very much enjoys a good chew on a bone! She's curious about kids and other dogs, and has been polite and quiet.
At the dog park, you can already catch glimpses of the playful girl she's becoming. Cashew loves to zip around, and she's even eyed a ball or two like she's thinking about giving chase - though she's not quite confident enough yet to dive into real play with the other dogs. She's right on the cusp of being able to relax enough to let loose and bounce around with her park friends, and it's a joy to watch her get a little closer every time.
Cashew's foster mom believes that with continued time and patience, she will truly blossom into the happy, playful girl she's meant to be, once she settles in and understands that she is safe and surrounded by love. She is a sweet, sensitive soul who deserves a home where she can love and be loved again.

Dogs from Underdog Pet Rescue come with the following medical care already provided:
Spay/Neuter
Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella Vaccinations (as age appropriate-puppy adopters may need to cover some vaccine boosters)
Heartworm Test (for dogs over 9mo)
Microchip
Deworming
Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative
Any other necessary medical treatment as recommended by veterinarian
Our adult dog adoption fee is $375. Our puppy (under 5 mo) is $450. Our senior dog (over 8 yrs) is $275. Our adoption fee for bonded adult dogs is $550.
Please note that all breeds noted are estimates or best guesses. We very rarely have information on our animals' actual breeds since they often come to the shelters we work with as strays
