Spicy

Spicy is an 8-year-old Chihuahua with a personality as vibrant as his name! Rescued from a hoarding situation, he's now looking for a special person who will appreciate his unique quirks and love him for exactly who he is. Spicy is a confident little guy who prefers a firm, confident touch over gentle petting, which can overstimulate him. He's not one to rush into affection; he'll let you know when he's ready for cuddles by hopping onto your lap. When he's had enough, he'll vocalize his need for space before happily going about his day. He's a good listener, follows directions, and considers his kennel his safe space for overnight sleeping.

Ideal Home

Spicy would do best in a household with no small children. He can get along with cats and other dogs, but he sees himself as the biggest dog in the house! A calm, submissive canine companion who respects his space would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Spicy is housetrained but may mark indoors if left unsupervised.

Training & Support

Patience, consistency, and plenty of treats are the keys to building trust with Spicy. Understanding his preference for firm touch and respecting his cues for affection will help him feel comfortable and secure. The quickest way to his heart is through food; he takes treats very gently, and it's a great way to earn his trust and build a lasting bond.
