Beckett is a handsome black and white rough-coated border collie with a DOB of February 12, 2024, and he weighs approximately 42 lbs. He arrived with the reputation of a wild teenager, and we'd have to agree! Beckett doesn't take much to get wound up, but we're working hard to teach him that a calm and zen attitude is the way to go. He's a smart cookie who loves to learn and would absolutely thrive in a home where clear rules, consistent boundaries, and plenty of training are part of the daily routine. His foster family is focused on filling his smart brain with all sorts of new knowledge and fun activities. Beckett gets along well with other dogs, though he can sometimes be a bit of a "play police" – so a confident, well-adjusted dog in the home would be a great companion for him. His experience with cats and children is currently unknown. Beckett is well crate trained and rides nicely in his crate during car rides.
Ideal Home
Beckett needs a home that understands the energy and intelligence of a border collie and is committed to providing consistent training and structure. He would do best in a home where training and mental stimulation are a top priority. Homes with young children (generally under 12) will not be considered, as dogs who haven't lived with children previously are not placed in such environments.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned. All dogs begin crate training upon intake, but housebreaking is not guaranteed, though most are situationally housebroken.
Training & Support
Beckett is a "wild teenager" who is working on his zen and needs consistent training. He enjoys learning and would benefit from an owner who wants to engage his busy mind.
