Meet Trout! This handsome fellow was found on the euthanasia list at a local shelter and is now safe with a loving foster mom. Trout is a surprisingly chill companion who enjoys a good adventure, whether it's a hike or a romp with his dog friends. After his adventures, his favorite activity is relaxing and flopping onto the couch. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but with a little time, he becomes a loyal and loving friend. Trout is kennel-trained, potty-trained, walks well on a leash, and knows how to sit. He gets along well with other dogs of all sizes but shows a strong interest in squirrels and cats, so a home without feline roommates might be best. His only "flaw" is his talent for spitting out any medicine, no matter how it's hidden! Trout is dreaming of a forever home that will include him in all of life's adventures, like camping, fishing, and cozy evenings by the fire. He is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 54 lbs.
Ideal Home
Trout would thrive in a home that includes him in life's adventures, like camping trips and fishing weekends. A home without cats would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Trout is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be ready for his forever home in mid-to-late July. He is fully vetted, neutered, and up-to-date on preventatives.
Training & Support
Trout is kennel-trained, potty-trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. He also knows how to sit. He is known to be clever at spitting out medication, so creative administration methods will be needed.
