Meet Santa, a distinguished 5-year-old gentleman with a heart of gold and a mellow disposition. Santa, who was formerly known as Otis, has a touching story – he was previously in our loving care and has returned to us because his owner could no longer care for him. This is a testament to our unwavering commitment to our dogs; they will always have a home with us, no matter how much time has passed. Santa is a cuddle bug who adores being close to his people and enjoys a good morning snuggle. He's also a smart cookie who has mastered "sit" and is working hard on "lay down," "wait," and "leave it." He can even balance a treat on his nose – talk about impressive! While he's still getting the hang of fetch, he has a blast with his tennis balls. He's also a perfect passenger on car rides once he's had a moment to get some pets.
Ideal Home
Santa is wonderful with children and has experience with both older and younger kids. He's a social butterfly with everyone he meets and is very curious and playful with cats, showing no aggression whatsoever. He also enjoys the company of other dogs and loves to wrestle, run, and play tug-of-war. A fenced yard would be ideal for Santa to safely explore while he continues to work on his recall.
Ongoing Health
Santa underwent obstruction surgery in the past, which has made his digestion a bit more sensitive. He will require a well-balanced, premium diet with small meals fed throughout the day. All-natural treats are also recommended.
Training & Support
Santa is a smart and eager learner! He is doing wonderfully with his house training and even signals when he needs to go outside. He's also a polite eater and is well-behaved in his crate. As an enthusiastic walker who can pull, he would benefit from a training collar and ongoing obedience training.
