Dogwood is a handsome young pup, almost 7 months old, with a sleek golden coat, warm amber eyes, and the sweetest floppy ears. He has a gentle expression and a happy smile that's hard to resist. His sturdy, athletic build hints at his adventurous spirit, but don't let that fool you – his personality is quite laid-back! Dogwood is the perfect mix of playful and relaxed. While he enjoys a good game and exploring the yard, he's not a nonstop ball of energy. His foster mom describes him as laid-back, lazy, and incredibly loving. He's happiest hanging out with his people, soaking up affection, and proudly carrying toys or anything he can find in his mouth, a classic Lab trait that's absolutely adorable. This sweet boy loves being part of the family and has an affectionate, easygoing nature that makes him a joy to live with. Whether he's following you around the house with his latest "treasure," lounging nearby while you work, or leaning in for pets, Dogwood is simply happy to be wherever you are. Ongoing Health

All vetting is included in the adoption fee, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and a microchip with free lifetime registration.

Training & Support

Our trainers on staff assess every animal, modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families, including crate training, potty training, and leash walking. Our fosters also participate in group training and socialization playgroups.

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• You will meet your pet through a video call before adoption finalization.
• The adoption fee is $1000, which includes all vetting, transport costs, and the following perks: extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers, a discount on an Embark DNA test kit, 30-day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion, a free private online dog training session with GoodPup, discounts on in-person dog training through Rover Training, discounts on a fresh dog food subscription, coupons for Petco, discounts on pet first aid and hygiene solutions, discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer, and access to our exclusive Facebook Adopters page.
• There is an additional $87 surcharge for transportation costs.

Transporation

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pickup in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You can track your pet's journey in real time and receive photo updates. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
