Meet Paprika, a stunning and sweet 4-year-old female Great Dane who weighs in at a majestic 149 pounds. This sensitive, intelligent, and affectionate girl is a true gentle giant with a wonderful sense of humor. Paprika is a curious soul who likes to take a moment to observe her surroundings before diving in, and once she knows all is well, she looks to her person for guidance. She thrives in a calm, structured environment where routines are predictable, helping her feel confident and secure.

Paprika has blossomed in foster care, building her confidence and learning that new people and experiences can be safe. She absolutely adores treats and praise, and genuinely wants to make good choices, responding well to cues like "let's go" and "touch." While she can be sensitive to sudden movements, close proximity, or new situations, she is learning to recover more quickly with calm, consistent guidance and reassurance. Paprika is a world-class sniffer, enjoying her daily walks and exploring every interesting scent. At home, she loves being close to her people, settling in for quiet evenings after her adventures. She forms deep, loyal bonds and truly wants to be a part of her family's everyday life.

Ideal Home

Paprika's ideal home is calm, structured, and predictable, with clear expectations and consistent routines. She would love someone who enjoys neighborhood walks, quiet time in the yard, and evenings relaxing together. She would do best as an only dog or with very thoughtful, slow introductions to a calm, well-matched canine companion. An adult home or one with older, respectful teenagers would be her best fit.

Paprika is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed.

Training & Support

Paprika is dog-selective and still in training. While she can be reactive (barking or lunging) when dogs are too close or if she is surprised, she is showing steady improvement and can calmly observe and disengage from other dogs at a distance with guidance. She is learning to stay regulated and composed around other dogs. She is leash-trained, walks loosely on leash, and goes into her crate on command. Paprika is potty-trained and indicates when she needs to go outside, with no indoor accidents. She also rides well in the car. Paprika may occasionally alert her people when she notices something new, but she is learning to stay in place, look to her handler, and recover more quickly. She is looking for someone who will celebrate how far she has come and continue showing her that she is safe.

• All dogs adopted from Just Giants Rescue are up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.
• Approved applications are good for 12 months.
• Meet and greets can be scheduled with approved adopters.

Transporation

Paprika is located in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Transportation from the foster home to the adopter is the responsibility of the adopter to coordinate. Just Giants does not adopt outside of the continental US.
