Meet Michelle! This sweet 3-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix weighs about 48 pounds and is ready to find her forever family. Michelle was rescued from euthanasia at a high-kill shelter and is now thriving in a foster home in Houston, Texas, eagerly awaiting her transport to an approved adopter.
Michelle is an incredibly friendly, affectionate, and social girl who adores other dogs. She loves to play and nap with her doggy foster siblings, adjusting her play style to match theirs. Outside, she has plenty of energy for running, but indoors, she settles beautifully and enjoys lounging and snoozing, making her a happy and mellow house companion.
Ideal Home
Michelle has met children 8 and up and was very sweet, but she can jump when excited. We recommend a home with children 12+ or dog-savvy teens who can handle her enthusiasm. She would also thrive in a home with another friendly dog. Michelle can be a bit of an escape artist and can scale fences, so a secure yard or consistent leash walks are a must. She would do well in an apartment or urban setting provided she gets consistent exercise and enrichment.

Training & Support
Michelle is fully housebroken and crate trained, even choosing to rest in her crate during the day. She is very food motivated and learns quickly, but she is still working on her manners. She can be sneaky around food, so she is fed separately and benefits from guidance at snack time, responding well to redirection. Michelle walks fairly well on a leash but tends to pull; continued leash training and structure will help her improve. She loves to chew, especially on things she finds outside, so supervision and crate time when unsupervised are important.

Transportation
Michelle is currently in Houston, Texas. Transports run every few weeks to approved adopters. We will schedule Michelle on the next available transport once approved.
