Bates

Bates is a big, goofy, loyal boy who has been in and out of the shelter system since August 2022. He was found as a stray and brought to a crowded city shelter, and later adopted but returned because he was too much for his elderly owner. Bates is estimated to be around 85 lbs and has never had a consistent home to provide him with routine, boundaries, and structure. He's a super loyal companion who thrives on treats and looks to his handler for direction. He loves other dogs of all sizes, but it's important to note that he plays hard and doesn't like to share his toys or food with them.

Ideal Home

Bates would do best in a home that can provide him with structure, plenty of exercise, and a consistent routine. He loves to run and play and would likely benefit from having another dog in the home. He is not a good fit for homes with cats or small children, but he is good with older children (tweens and teens).

Bates is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Bates will need to work on his manners, as he has not had consistent training. He responds well to treats and is eager to please his handler. Providing him with clear boundaries and structure will be key to his success.
