Hi there! My name is Stewie and I'm a very special boy looking for my forever family. I've been at the shelter since August, and it's been quite a journey. When I first arrived, I was very scared and nervous. But the wonderful people here have spent a lot of extra time with me, and I'm finally starting to come out of my shell! A few months ago, I used to hide in the back of my kennel with my ears down and tail tucked. Because I was so unsure of what was happening, I sometimes came across as a little "mad."
Now, I greet my favorite people with a wagging tail and a smile! I love to jump up for kisses and ask for lots of pets on our walks. I'm a really sweet boy at heart and I'm so excited to find my forever home. I think I'm very loyal and would do best in a home where I can be your one and only furry friend, without any other dogs or cats. Small children might also be a bit much for me, as I can still be a little skittish around sudden movements.
The shelter staff wants me to tell you that I'm available for adoption, but they are being a little picky about finding me the absolute perfect home! I'm really hoping to find someone who is willing to get to know me. I just need a little extra time and patience to blossom into the amazing dog I know I can be!
As of 05-28-2026, I'm doing so well! I love everyone I meet and always have a happy wagging tail. I still need to be the only dog in the house, or perhaps with a very submissive dog who won't push my buttons. The shelter staff still believes I wouldn't do well in a home with small children or cats.
Ideal Home
I would do best as the only pet in the home. I'm also not a fan of cats. Due to my skittishness around sudden movements, a home without small children would be ideal.
