She and her brother were surrendered to a shelter in Houston, and Trix was the more reserved of the two. While her brother has found his home, Trix needed extra time in foster care to build her confidence. She was significantly undersocialized early in life, and her baseline is fear of humans. However, she has never shown any reactivity; when unsure, she simply looks for a safe place to hide. She is gentle, quiet, and incredibly observant, picking things up quickly. With patience and time, she begins to soften, and with intentional trust-building, she becomes more comfortable. You might even catch her playing with toys when she thinks no one is watching, running with other dogs, or eventually curling up on the couch with her humans.
