Loki is a 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix weighing 40 pounds, with an estimated birthdate in January 2026. He is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. Loki was rescued with his mother and siblings from a rural dumping area outside of Houston, Texas, where they were found during a freeze. He is described as the fearless ringleader of his litter, brave, bold, and always curious. Loki is an expert climber and enjoys playful games of keep-away. He is potty trained and can have occasional accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. While generally fearless, he can be a bit hesitant with new experiences but quickly overcomes it. He loves food and always makes sure to get his share! Loki is incredibly sweet and transforms into a cuddly lap buddy after a day of play. He adores people and other dogs and brings joy wherever he goes. He has some crate experience and has been around children but has not been tested with cats. Loki is still learning leash skills and basic obedience but is eager to please.
Ideal Home
Loki would thrive in a home that can provide consistent positive reinforcement, build his confidence, and help him mature. We prefer homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor Loki. If you don't currently have a dog, please provide a plan for ongoing socialization, such as structured training classes, supervised daycare, or regular playdates with trusted dogs. Loki is still young and benefits from not being left alone for more than four to six hours at a time, as he needs regular potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, training, and interaction.
Ongoing Health
Loki is a healthy, growing puppy.
Training & Support
Loki is potty trained but may have a few accidents as he adjusts to a new home. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Socialization is very important for Loki; safe and positive experiences with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs will help build his lifelong confidence.
