Olivia is a 2-3 year old, 40 lb female Weimaraner mix with an incredible spirit. Rescued in Saltillo, Mexico, in September 2023, Olivia was found in a desperate condition, potentially with a spinal or hip injury, and abandoned by her owners. Despite a rough start, she's blossomed into a playful, affectionate, and incredibly grateful dog who brings joy to everyone she meets. Olivia is unaware of any limitations her condition might impose and lives each day to the fullest, cherishing every bit of comfort and love.
Ideal Home
Olivia would do best as the only dog in the home. A fenced backyard is a must, and her ideal family will have experience with dog behavior and training, offering patience and understanding as she adjusts. A home that is open to the needs of rescued animals and committed to providing a safe, supportive environment for at least three months while she settles in will be a perfect fit.
Ongoing Health
Olivia has undergone extensive veterinary care, including being spayed, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and tested for common diseases (4DX, Heartworm negative). She is on monthly preventive medication (Nexgard Spectra) for fleas, ticks, and heartworms and has a health certificate. She may have a past spinal or hip injury, but it doesn't slow her down!
Training & Support
Olivia is not house-trained, and her foster home is unable to provide dedicated house-training due to the number of animals. Her new family will need to be prepared to work on this. She is described as independent, so consistent guidance and positive reinforcement will be key to her success.

Transporation
Olivia is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. Transport to the East Coast of the United States is available and coordinated with a transport company for an additional fee.
