Rum is a gorgeous mix weighing approximately 35 lbs and is about 1 year old. While we do not know her exact breed, we believe she could be a mix of pointer, heeler, beagle, and maybe Dalmatian. Rum was found with her mom and siblings behind a liquor store, and the clerk there gave her and her sister, Tequila, their unique names. Rum and Tequila are not bonded, but they were found together and share a similar spotted appearance. This is Rum's first time being listed for adoption, and she's eagerly awaiting her forever home.
Ideal Home
Rum is a sweet, friendly, loving, playful, gentle, and kind dog who loves all animals and people she meets. She is super smart and would make a perfect addition to the perfect home. Rum is more active and playful, so she would be better suited in a more active home. She loves children of all ages and would be fantastic in a home with them. Rum also loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with or without them, having met all size dogs with no issues. She has been introduced to cats and ignores them, showing no prey drive, so she believes she can live happily with cats with proper introductions.
Ongoing Health
Rum is spayed, heartworm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, microchipped, and current on dewormer. She will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport.
Training & Support
Rum is crate trained and house trained. She knows how to walk on a leash and does well on it. She rides in the car with no issues and would be great as an adventure buddy!

Transporation
Rum is currently located in Texas. We adopt animals to the Central US and the East Coast. Transport to the following locations is available every 2-3 weeks: Albany and Latham, NY; Wells and Brattleboro, VT; Willington, Enfield, New Haven, and Dayville, CT; Port Chester, NY; Dayton and Akron, OH; Grove City and Bloomsburg, PA; Ridgefield and Mt Laurel, NJ; White Marsh/Elkton, MD; and Falls Church, VA. The adoption fee of $525 includes transport from Texas.
