Nala is a 6-year-old, spayed female Rottweiler mix weighing around 46 pounds. She's a sweet, gentle, and well-mannered companion who settles into family life with ease. Nala has an easygoing personality, wonderful manners, and a heart full of love to give. She enjoys playing with other dogs, exhibiting a fun and playful side, but is just as happy relaxing afterward. She's been friendly and respectful with smaller dogs, reading social cues well. Nala is completely non-reactive on walks and has excellent leash manners.
Ideal Home
Nala would thrive in a home with a moderate activity level where she can enjoy a daily walk and plenty of time with her people. She would likely enjoy having another friendly dog in the home, but it is not required. Nala has lived with children ages 6 and 8 and has also spent time with a 5-year-old. Her foster describes her as incredibly gentle, patient, and loving with kids, making her a wonderful addition to a home with children of any age.
Ongoing Health
Nala is house-trained and does well in her crate. She may bark or cry for a few minutes when first crated or left alone, but she settles down quickly. Her foster expects this mild separation anxiety to continue improving as she becomes more comfortable in a consistent routine.
Training & Support
Nala is a very smart dog, eager to please, and listens well. She knows several commands and responds beautifully to verbal cues. She loves playing with balls, enjoys car rides, has no trouble with stairs, and greets everyone she meets with kindness. Her foster states they haven't heard her bark and that she walks beautifully on a harness and rides perfectly in the car. She is described as an easy dog to have by your side and a "turnkey pup!"

Transportation
Nala is currently located in Houston, Texas. Transport to an approved adopter is included in the adoption donation. Transports run every few weeks.
