MJ aka Mary Jane

MJ is approximately 5 1/2 years old, spayed, and weighs around 38 pounds. She is a mixed breed, possibly a cattle dog/lab mix with a sweet and playful disposition. MJ loves to snuggle, does well on car rides, and enjoys walks, hikes, and playing fetch, and will often go on longer runs. She is house-trained and sleeps in her crate at night. MJ can entertain herself for several hours and doesn't show signs of separation anxiety. She has completed basic obedience training.

Ideal Home

MJ can be nervous around loud noises like fireworks and thunder, and she takes time to warm up to new people and dogs. While she has successfully stayed with other dogs, a home with another dog or dogs may be beneficial for her. She has done well with children in her current home, but an adult-only home or a home with older children would be ideal to help her adjust more easily.

Training & Support

MJ has shown territorial behavior (aggressive barking and jumping) in her home due to anxiety around new people, particularly children's friends visiting frequently. She needs a patient owner who can help her build confidence and manage her reactions to new people and situations. Her current owners have engaged in in-home trainer lessons and would be happy to provide a private lesson with a dog trainer to help her transition to her new home.
