Big Mama

Big Mama is an affectionate, athletic, adventure-loving 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier mix who enjoys going on walks and meeting new people! She was found weighing over 70lbs but is now at a healthier weight of around 60lbs. Big Mama was discovered in the middle of a road before being rescued. Unfortunately, her rescuers had a dog that wasn't good with other animals, and they had to take Big Mama to a local shelter. As a pit bull mix, she was placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, through dedicated efforts, she was brought to safety! She is incredibly people-friendly and loves to cuddle. She can be a bit unaware of her size when she's excited and zooming around, so watch out! When she's indoors, she enjoys lounging, but outdoors, it's playtime!

Ideal Home

Big Mama has done well with most of the dogs she's met, but she seems to do best around medium to large-sized male dogs. She can be more assertive with other female dogs, so a home with only male dogs would be ideal. While she enjoys playing with other dogs, she doesn't necessarily need a canine companion to live her best life. Due to her energy level and occasional unawareness of her size, a home without young children would be best for her.
