Layla

Layla is an 11-year-old Silky Terrier/Yorkie mix looking for a loving home. She was originally surrendered because her owner had a stroke and could no longer care for her. Adopted on her 10th birthday, Layla was later returned due to accidents in the house, which were believed to be anxiety-related. Upon arrival at her foster home, it was discovered she was drinking and urinating excessively. Blood work revealed she is in the early stages of kidney failure. She will be starting a special kidney care diet, and her kidney values will be rechecked in 6-8 weeks. Depending on the results, she may need weekly fluids. If her kidney values have increased, her vet estimates she has 6-12 months left. Layla has had a difficult past and deserves someone committed to her care. Her adoption fee is waived due to her uncertain prognosis. Layla prefers to be the only pet, but might coexist with others if they don't bother her. She absolutely adores people and attention!

Ideal Home

Layla would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention and receive plenty of love. She is not a fan of other animals, but may be fine with them if they leave her be.

Training & Support
