Sansa is a sweet and playful 10-month-old Chihuahua-Cocker Spaniel mix who weighs around 10 lbs. She was surrendered to our shelter but remains a happy and loving pup, ready for her next chapter. Sansa is crate trained and does her business outside. She gets along well with cats, other dogs, and people of all ages. While she may bark at strangers initially, it's just her way of being alert, and she warms up with a little reassurance. Sansa is affectionate and would thrive in a home that provides consistent guidance and helps her build confidence.
Ideal Home
A home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Families who are genuinely committed to rescuing a dog, understanding the needs and behaviors of rescued animals, and have experience with dog training or are willing to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.
Ongoing Health
Sansa has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, is dewormed, microchipped, and has a negative heartworm test. She is up-to-date on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention with Nexgard Spectra. She also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Sansa is not house-trained. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past experiences and may have fears or anxieties. Patience, understanding, and providing a safe, loving environment with a consistent routine and clear boundaries are crucial to help build trust and strengthen your bond.

- If it's a match, we'll schedule a call or video chat for an introduction and virtual home tour.
- We will speak with 1-2 of your references.
- If approved, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
Transporation
Sansa is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip. Door-to-door delivery is available for a one-time fee of $400 USD. Our transport company organizes 3-4 trips per year, collecting adopted pets from Mexico and transporting them to your home. You will receive real-time updates throughout the journey in a private Facebook Messenger group.
