Meet Rowan, a tiny gentleman disguised as a dog! This handsome boy is around 1.5 years old and weighs about 39 pounds, but he looks like he should weigh half that! Rowan is a Lab/Pittie mix with a perfectly compact build, the sweetest face, adorable floppy ears, and the most endearing puppy-dog eyes. He's at that wonderful age where he's past the rambunctious puppy stage but still full of life.
Rowan is a gentle, quiet, and sensitive soul. He's not one to demand attention; instead, he prefers to quietly observe and slowly warm up to you. New people and environments can make him a bit nervous, so he needs a patient adopter who will give him time to feel safe and decompress. Once he trusts you, those quiet moments of companionship will feel incredibly rewarding. He's the type of dog who will calmly sit beside you, offering his peaceful presence like a polite roommate.
Ideal Home
Rowan would thrive in a calm environment with patient people who understand that shy dogs need time to build trust. A home with a yard and a quieter setting would be ideal, as busy apartment living might be overwhelming for him. While he hasn't been officially tested with children, older, calm kids would likely be a better fit due to his nervousness around new people and loud environments. We can kid-test him for interested adopters.
Ongoing Health
Rowan is a healthy boy. All vetting, vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, and spay/neuter surgery are included in his adoption.
Training & Support
Rowan is a sensitive boy who needs time and patience to build trust. He's not showing any major behavioral issues, but he does need an understanding adopter to help him feel secure.
