Meet Freckles!

Freckles is a mom who came to NMDR while caring for her litter of five puppies. After dedicating all of her energy to raising them, it is now her turn to be cared for and to experience a life of comfort and stability of her own.

She is a gentle, quiet dog who is beginning to learn what it means to simply be a companion. Freckles has been in foster care with other dogs and children and has done well in those environments, showing a calm and adaptable nature.

Freckles has luxating patellas, which may require monitoring and ongoing joint care to help keep her comfortable as she ages. Her future adopter should be prepared to support her with routine veterinary care and a thoughtful, low-impact lifestyle that supports joint health.

She is still learning and building confidence outside of motherhood and will benefit from a patient home that allows her to adjust at her own pace. A calm environment and gentle routine will help her continue to flourish.

Freckles is ready for a home where she can finally relax, be cared for, and enjoy the comfort she has spent so long giving to others.

Many NMDR dogs have had limited prior socialization and may need time, patience, and support as they adjust to home life. Skills such as house training, leash walking, and handling may require continued practice. Progress will vary by individual dog.
