Hi there! My name is Donner, and I’m a three-year-old Australian Cattle Dog with a bright mind and lots of energy. My story started a little rough — I was found starving at a boat dock until a kind Good Samaritan stepped in and helped me get to a rescue. Because of that kindness, I’m now healthy, safe, and ready to find a forever home of my own.

Like most cattle dogs, I’m intelligent, active, and happiest when I have something to do. I would love a home with someone who enjoys being outdoors and understands working breeds. Hiking, exploring, learning new things, or having a job around the house would all make me very happy.

I’m crate trained and actually enjoy my crate — it’s my cozy place for naps and quiet time. After a good day of activity, I’m also happy to relax and hang out with my people. I’m currently working on potty training. Since I likely spent much of my early life outdoors, I’m still learning the routines of indoor living and doing my best to figure things out.

There are a few things my future family should know. Cats aren’t a good match for me because I like to chase them. I can also be selective with other dogs and don’t do well with dominant male dogs, so proper introductions are important. Because I’m energetic and sometimes a little intense, I would likely do best in a home without small children.
