Gingersnap, or Ginger as we affectionately call her, is a 9-year-old, 9lb Pekingese mix who is the funniest, spunkiest, and most adorable little thing you'll ever meet! We don't know her full backstory, but she was found as a stray and has clearly had puppies in her past. She's a friendly, confident, low to medium energy girl who is playful with most dogs her size, especially other young pups. Ginger is potty trained, crate trained, great in the car, and loves her walks. She sees her crate as her zen den and enjoys a good nap in it. While she's generally great with handling, she can be startled if surprised, letting out a little shriek, though she's become less so as she's settled into her foster home.
Ideal Home
Ginger's ideal home would include another very playful small dog to match her energy. A home without young children would be best due to her tendency to be startled. She'd be great in a variety of other homes, though!
Ongoing Health
Gingersnap is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. She will be ready to go to her forever home in September.
Training & Support
She is potty and crate trained and good on leash. Her adopter should be willing to continue basic command training for her safety.
