Tucan's story is one of resilience and hope. He was found waiting patiently outside a hotel for days, a rusty choke chain barely fitting him, clearly abandoned. Despite his past, Tucan is now a healthy, joyful, and incredibly affectionate dog, eager to find a loving and committed adopter. He thrives on connection and looks to his person for guidance and leadership. Tucan has experience living with many dogs of different sizes and breeds and does well in those environments. Once his energy is properly channeled, he's happy to settle down beside you for affection and downtime.
Ideal Home
Tucan is looking for an active companion who loves to play, hike, walk, and share adventures. He is a big, strong dog with a high play drive, so he needs a handler who understands how to work with energetic dogs. He is best suited for acreage, farm, or ranch life and does not like small or enclosed spaces. Tucan is not recommended for homes with small or young children. He is not recommended for first-time dog owners or those without prior training experience, unless they are strongly committed to learning.

Training & Support
Tucan is smart and thrives with structure and stimulation. He needs an owner who will meet his physical and mental needs. While he is eager to engage and build bonds, he requires a handler who understands how to work with energetic dogs and can channel his energy positively.

- Approved adopters are matched with flight companions (flight angels) traveling from Puerto Vallarta. You will meet them at the airport to welcome your new pup home.
Transportation
Our rescue is located near Bucerias, Mexico. We adopt dogs to the US and Canada. Approved adopters will be matched with flight companions traveling from Puerto Vallarta. If a Canadian flight angel is unavailable during the summer months, dogs may need to fly into the US and be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border.
