Meet Ponderosa, or "Pondsy" as we affectionately call him! This handsome Shepherd/Lab mix is almost 2 years old and weighs around 60 pounds of pure sunshine and goofy charm. Pondsy has a glossy black coat and expressive brown eyes that will melt your heart. When he's excited to see his people, he does the signature "Pondsy Wiggle," wags his tail furiously, and is ready for belly rubs.
Pondsy is a true adventurer who loves to be included in everything, from hikes and walks to car rides. He's curious, playful, and always up for fun, making him an excellent hiking buddy. But don't let his energetic side fool you; he's also a devoted snuggle bug who loves to relax after a day of excitement.
Pondsy gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a friendly, medium-energy female dog who enjoys playtime. However, he's also happy to be the center of attention as your one and only canine companion. He does have a "no cats" rule, as they are a bit too interesting for him. He also prefers a home without very small children, as they can be a bit overwhelming. Teenagers (13+) and adults, however, he adores and will form a deep bond with. Pondsy could do well in an apartment if he gets enough exercise and mental stimulation, but a yard would be a bonus!
Pondsy is a strong survivor! He underwent leg surgery and worked hard in physical therapy, emerging even stronger and happier. While his back leg has a unique charm, it doesn't slow him down one bit. He still loves to run, play, and zoom with the best of them.
Ideal Home
A home without cats, and ideally without very small children. Teenagers (13+) and adults are great! He could do well in an apartment (first floor) with sufficient exercise and mental stimulation, but a yard would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Pondsy has had leg surgery and his back leg has some unique characteristics, but it does not impede his ability to run and play.

Pondsy is located in Texas. We offer nationwide transport through our USDA-certified system. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. You can track your pet's journey in real-time. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
