About Chance

Meet Chance! This handsome, large boy is about seven years old and weighs around 95 pounds. He's a mixed breed with a beautiful dark brown and tan coat, and his striking eyes and calm demeanor make him a peaceful companion. Chance is a gentle guardian who loves being near his people and thrives in a family environment. He does well with children and enjoys supervising dinner prep from his designated kitchen doorway spot or resting at your feet. He's a quiet snorer and a good boy in his crate, making him a gift of steady companionship.

Ideal Home

Chance would love a home where he can be a central part of the family. He enjoys being near his people, whether that's at your feet or supervising from the kitchen.

Ongoing Health

Chance is currently on thyroid medication, which has brought about wonderful positive changes, including increased energy and a renewed zest for life. His coat is also improving, with hair growing back on his tail, indicating the treatment is helping him feel his best. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and has transferable pet insurance. He also has extra dewclaws that require regular care.

Training & Support

Chance is house-trained and politely lets you know when he needs to go out. He settles well when left alone. He benefits from clear boundaries and structured routines, especially around food. He is ruled by his nose and enjoys relaxed daily walks, including "sniffaris" where he can explore his surroundings. He knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, stay, down, come, roll over, shake, go lay down, walk fast, and time for bed. He is not a frequent barker but will alert if someone approaches.
