Ben is a charming 6-year-old Dachshund who weighs about 12lbs. Sadly, he was surrendered because he nipped a grandchild while protecting his owner. Despite this, Ben is a sweet and fun-loving boy who gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing fetch. He's friendly with strangers and allows them to pet and pick him up. Ben's unique trait is his protectiveness of his person when they are sitting. He'll do best with someone who understands and respects this quirk. As a bonus, Ben is fully housetrained!

Ben would thrive in a home that understands and respects his protective nature. He needs a home without small children or apartments, and he should not be placed in a home with large dogs.
