Diesel Donut is here, reporting for duty as your loyal shadow, fetch partner, slightly over-sized lap-dog, and the reason for everyday laughs! This happy-go-lucky pittie mix is always ready to spread his contagious happiness. We believe Diesel is about 2 years old and he weighs 48 pounds, a perfect medium size! He is toy-tossing, people-loving, and has a great time playing fetch with himself, or with you if you're lucky! He's the perfect mix of playful energy and sweet affection, and we can't wait for him to find his forever home.
Ideal Home
Diesel would be happiest in a home with a yard where he can zoom, toss toys in the air, and play fetch until his heart's content. While he could potentially do well in an apartment with an active life, a yard is preferred. He would also thrive with a confident, playful female dog who can match his energy and handle his bouncy play style. A more submissive dog could feel overwhelmed by his friendly and playful approach. He would love to play chase with cats, so no feline friends in the home for him.
Ongoing Health
Diesel is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP vaccinations with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, and a 12-month heartworm preventative injection. He has also been tested for heartworms.
Training & Support
Diesel is crate and house-trained and settles down nicely overnight. When walking on leash, he has great basic leash skills and shines when walking in an area without distraction, keeping an easy, steady pace. He shows great manners meeting new people. When passing other dogs, he can get excited and occasionally bark, but he is receptive to gentle corrections and boundaries, and we feel confident he will learn quickly once expectations are established. He is still young so he will need an adopter that is active and can give him ongoing training, structure, playtime, and all the love he craves.

Transporation
Diesel is currently in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system. Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, and connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
