Fernando is friendly but shy at first, especially when receiving affection. Once he feels safe, his personality shines through with his adorable, serious little face that makes everyone smile. Because of his age, he is naturally calm and laid-back, preferring quiet companionship over chaos. He enjoys being around other dogs and coexisting peacefully, making him a great fit for a home looking for a gentle, low-energy companion. Training & Support

Fernando Silverio is not house-trained and will require patience and understanding during his adjustment period. Rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences, and need time to adapt to new environments and people. Patience and understanding can help build trust and strengthen the bond between the dog and their new owner. Providing a safe and loving environment, establishing a routine, and clear boundaries will help him feel secure.

• Send photos/videos of your home.
• If it's a match, we will call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will speak with 1-2 of your references.
• If approved, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food.

Transportation

Fernando Silverio is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. He is out of town and ready to travel to the East Coast on a cross-country trip if adopted. Door-to-door delivery is available for a one-time fee of $400 USD. This fee covers transportation from Mexico to your home. Transportation is scheduled for 3-4 trips per year, with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. A contracted transport company based in Montana sends a dedicated team to Mexico to collect adopted pets. Each pet is provided with all necessary legal documents, including a Transport Contract, Health Certificate from the USDA, and certificates regarding administered health protocols. For US adoptions, the transport team will escort pets across the border into Texas. For Canadian adoptions, pets will be delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. A private Facebook Messenger group will be created with adopters and the transport team for real-time updates, including photos and videos of the pet's journey, feeding and walking schedules, and Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) for each drop-off. The transport team will deliver your pet directly to your home and conduct a final home review.
