Sugar is a sweet girl who has been with us for over 3 years and has been returned to us 4 times. She has a hard time trusting and people give up on her too fast. Because we are a very rare but true no-kill shelter, Sugar will stay here with us unless you are a truly committed, single woman who plans to live alone and would never give up on a dog. Please pass on Sugar if you are not this person, as we will not place her in an iffy home that expects perfection. Sugar has now been here over 3 years! She sleeps in a crate nightly and has never soiled her crate. It seems when previous adopters added a man to the home, she would hide and not go out to potty or eat or drink. She does not like noise, loud, fast, or chaotic environments. She needs a quiet home with a regular schedule and a secure fence. She has been a very good dog here; she loves me but is fearful of some men. Time must be given to her to settle in. She is okay with other dogs but is a bit of a bossy female, so we would prefer to see her in a single-dog home to avoid adding any extra obstacles.
Ideal Home
We are looking for a committed, single woman who lives alone and plans to remain that way. This home should be quiet with a regular schedule and a secure fence. Sugar would do best as the only pet in the home.

Sugar is spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Sugar is fearful of some men and can hide when she feels threatened. She needs a patient owner who will give her time to build trust. We recommend a quiet home and a consistent routine.
Application Details:

- All pets are spayed/neutered, come with current rabies certification and tags, are up to date with other vaccinations, microchipped, have tested negative for HW, and are wormed every 4 weeks while here.
- The adoption fee is $150.
- We require all pets in the home to be spayed and neutered.
Transportation
Sugar is located at our facility, about 1 hour from OKC or Tulsa. We are open by appointment from 8 AM to 5 PM. We do not ship dogs.
