Meet Toasty Buttercup! This sweet, 2-year-old, 62-pound lady is our cozy couch princess with a heart of gold. She's a natural-born lover who believes everyone she meets is wonderful and deserves her affection. Toasty has the gentlest soul and a calm, affectionate nature. She'll simply lean her squishy little body into you and quietly ask for some love, making it impossible not to adore her. Her beautiful golden eyes always look soft, loving, and a little sleepy. We lovingly call her our "little sausage" because she's short, squishy, and absolutely perfect for snuggling.
Toasty recently enjoyed an adventure and proved to be an incredible companion. She rode beautifully in the car, laying down calmly, and walked like an absolute queen on the trail, with a loose leash and a happy tail wag. She's the perfect partner for leisurely walks, easy hikes, exploring parks, or simply enjoying time outdoors. She's been wonderful with children, showing a calm, gentle, and patient demeanor, reciprocating their love with sweet kisses. Toasty is friendly and respectful with other dogs, preferring to observe rather than be the center of attention. She's happy to coexist with a calm, relaxed dog who also enjoys lounging, or she would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only girl, soaking up all the attention. Toasty isn't looking for chaos; she's looking for family movie nights, slow morning walks, sunny afternoons on the porch, car rides, and people to love with her whole heart.
Ideal Home
Toasty would do best with another calm, relaxed dog that will be happy to lounge around the house together, or she would also be great as your one and only dog. She would be a great companion for someone who works from home.

Toasty is eager to please and loves treats, making training enjoyable. She already knows how to sit, walks well on a leash, is comfortable in her crate, and has great house manners.

Toasty is located in the Houston, Texas area and can be transported nationwide using our rescue's USDA-certified transport system. Transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. For Canadian adopters, pick up is available in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
