Dexter is a playful, cuddly, and wonderfully curious 12-week-old miniature schnauzer mix puppy. He was found abandoned on the side of a rural highway and is now ready to find his forever family. Dexter is adaptable and has been thriving in his foster homes. He is great with kids, good with cats, and absolutely loves other dogs, often following them around and learning "how to dog" from his canine pals. Dexter enjoys cuddles and kisses when with people and cats, but his playful side comes out when he's with other dogs. While he's been gentle with younger children, he would likely do best with kids who understand puppy teething and play biting. He sleeps curled up by his human foster sister or in his kennel next to his dog foster brother. Dexter has started potty training and shows promise, with about 60% success rate and no accidents in his kennel.
Ideal Home
Dexter would do best in a home with children old enough to understand puppy behaviors like play biting. Any resident pets should be introduced slowly and properly.
Ongoing Health
Dexter has received age-appropriate vaccinations, parasite treatment and prevention, and has been neutered and microchipped.
Training & Support
Dexter is currently working on foundational skills including crate training, housebreaking, and general puppy manners. Consistent routines and positive reinforcement will help him excel. His smart, eager-to-please nature will make him quick to train.
