Sentry is a 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from the woods with his mother, Wanda, and littermates. Sentry is a happy, affectionate, and playful puppy who loves people and other dogs. He is potty trained and continues to grow into a confident, well-rounded dog. Sentry is outgoing, friendly, and always ready to make a new friend. He has been raised alongside his littermates and his mom and loves playing with other dogs. He has been around children and has done well. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn.
Ideal Home
Sentry is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him continue to mature into an exceptional adult dog. We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Sentry. If you don't currently have a dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization. Because Sentry is still a young dog, we also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Sentry is potty trained and is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization is also very important.
