Diamond

Diamond is a 9 1/2 year old Shepherd mix who was adopted from us in 2017 but recently returned when her family could no longer care for her. While she is considered a senior dog by age, she looks and acts much younger! She loves a good game of fetch and enjoys walks, but doesn't require long distances or hours of play. After some exercise, Diamond is content to relax with you and enjoy some quality scratching time. Upon her return, we learned she is dog-reactive, so she would do best as the only dog in the home. Our volunteers have discovered she knows some basic commands, walks well on a leash (though she can pull at the start), and truly loves being with people. Diamond is currently in a foster home where she's proven to be house-trained, doesn't jump on furniture, doesn't beg for food, and is an all-around fantastic dog. She interacts wonderfully with the grandchildren, as if she's known them forever! Diamond truly lives up to her name; she's a gem who will make a wonderful companion for someone seeking a dog that's past the puppy phase but still full of life.

Diamond would thrive in a home with no other dogs.

Diamond has no known health conditions.

Training & Support

Diamond is house-trained, does not jump on furniture, and does not beg for food. She can pull on the leash, especially at the beginning of a walk, so continued leash training will be beneficial. She knows some basic commands and enjoys being with people.
