Meet Loki Blue: Part Terrier, Part Meatball, All Heart

This handsome 7-year-old terrier mix recently lost the only home he ever knew after his beloved owner passed away. While his heart has experienced loss, Loki's gentle spirit remains as bright as his big, goofy smile. It's clear Loki's dad adored him. In fact, we're fairly certain "sharing is caring" was a daily household motto, especially when it came to meals. Let's just say Loki never missed an opportunity to help with quality control at dinnertime. As a result, our sweet boy is carrying a few extra pounds, but nothing some leisurely walks, a healthy diet, and fewer "samples" from the dinner table can't fix. Despite his larger-than-life physique, Loki is truly a gentle giant. He loves attention, belly rubs, kind words, and being told how handsome he is (which, thankfully, is very easy because it's true). He enjoys short walks, especially during these hot summer days, and is perfectly content spending the rest of his time soaking up affection from his favorite humans. Loki previously lived with two tiny Chihuahuas that he absolutely adored, proving that he understands the importance of having a diverse friend group. With proper introductions, he does well with small dogs and would love a canine companion to hang out with. One of the best things about adopting an adult dog? Loki already knows the house rules. He's housebroken, making the transition into a new home much smoother than starting from scratch with a puppy. And if that wasn't enough, Loki comes with the Southern shelter jackpot package: Up to date on vaccinations, Microchipped, and Heartworm negative. Seriously, around here that's almost like finding a winning lottery ticket tucked inside your sweet tea. Loki Blue isn't looking for perfection. Ideal Home

With proper introductions, he does well with small dogs and would love a canine companion to hang out with. A fenced-in yard is not required. He is a good fit for families with children.

Ongoing Health

Loki is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

Transporation

Loki is located at the Humane Society in Gulfport. His adoption fee includes transport to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Adopters will meet at a designated meeting spot to pick up their new companions. Transports are arranged for specific dates, typically within 1-3 weeks of approving your application. Due to import regulations we are not able to adopt to MA or RI residents at this time.
