Vaquero

Vaquero is a 5-year-old, 46 lb Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart of gold! He was found in rough condition in Edinburg, Texas, near the border, suffering from severe mange and malnutrition. Thankfully, Vaquero has made an incredible recovery and is now a completely transformed dog who is happy to greet people and enjoys receiving affection. He has no long-term health effects from his past struggles.

Ideal Home

Vaquero would do well in a home with older, gentle children. He loves to relax and is a true "Netflix and chill" kind of dog, enjoying naps and treats. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and has also met kitties and does fine with them.

Ongoing Health

Vaquero is neutered, heartworm negative, up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, microchipped, and has been dewormed. He will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to transport.

Training & Support

Vaquero is house-trained. He loves car rides and looking out the window.

Transporation

Vaquero is currently in a foster sanctuary along the Texas/Mexico border. He can be transported to the Central US and East Coast. Transport locations include: Albany and Latham, NY; Wells and Brattleboro, VT; Willington, New Haven and Dayville, CT; Port Chester, NY; Dayton and Akron, OH; Grove City and Bloomsburg, PA; Ridgefield and Mt Laurel, NJ; White Marsh/Elkton, MD; and Falls Church, VA. Transport occurs every 2-3 weeks.
