Coney is a sweet and cuddly puppy who was surrendered to PUP with her siblings due to her family's severe financial distress and a child's serious medical condition. Despite missing a few meals, Coney was well-socialized and clearly loved. She absolutely adores being held and showered with affection, and she's eager for as much human interaction as you can offer. Coney is likely a mix of bully and herding breeds, with a touch of Chihuahua common in dogs from her area. We estimate she'll be a medium-sized dog when fully grown, but adopters should be prepared for any size. At 11 weeks old and 10.4 lbs, Coney is growing fast!
Ideal Home
A home committed to providing Coney with extensive socialization opportunities is essential. This includes exposing her to various sights, sounds, and people, as well as ensuring she has many positive interactions with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Renters must provide proof of pet-friendly housing.
Ongoing Health
Coney has been vet-checked, vaccinated, and de-wormed. She will require two additional puppy vaccinations and a rabies shot at the adopter's expense. She needs to be spayed by six months of age, and this procedure is covered by the adoption fee if performed at the PUP clinic.
Training & Support
Early socialization is crucial for Coney to develop good canine social skills and become a well-adjusted dog. Adopters should be prepared to actively engage her in puppy socialization classes, playdates, and trips to pet-friendly places. Obedience classes are also highly recommended. A tired dog is a happy dog, so plenty of exercise and mental stimulation will be key to her success.
