Wendel

Wendel is a resilient charmer who overcame a tough start to life. Found in dire condition, he was emaciated, covered in ticks, and suffering from multiple wounds and severe anemia. He also tested positive for heartworms, but thankfully, his treatment could wait until he regained his strength. After months of dedicated care, Wendel has made an astonishing transformation! He's gained weight, conquered his heartworm battle, and healed beautifully. Now, this 48-pound bundle of joy is ready to find his forever family. Wendel's infectious spirit shines through his wagging tail and enthusiastic kisses. He greets everyone with boundless excitement, eager to share his love. This spirited pup has a ton of energy to spare, so be prepared for lots of fun! He was born on 6/14/2021.

Ideal Home

Wendel would blossom in a home with an active family who can provide him with plenty of playtime and walks. A fenced yard is a must for him to safely run and play. He would do well with older children who understand the responsibilities of caring for a dog.

Ongoing Health

Wendel is heartworm-free and fully recovered from his previous health issues. He is eligible for our "Still Waiting, Still Loved Program," which offers a reimbursement of up to $300 per year for wellness exams, annual vaccinations, and heartworm prevention for the life of the animal.

Training & Support

Wendel is learning to "sit" and would benefit from a family willing to teach him basic commands. He loves dog chew toys and enjoys being petted, looking up with adoration while receiving affection.

• A veterinary reference is required to verify a history of providing vaccinations and heartworm prevention for previous pets.
• If you do not have a previous veterinary history, you will need to purchase a 3-month supply of heartworm prevention.
• If you rent, you will need to provide verification from your landlord regarding pet policies and any associated fees or restrictions.
• A meet and greet with any current pets is required to ensure compatibility.
