About Dahlia Daisy Flower the MINI Lab

Dahlia Daisy Flower is a delightful 10-month-old "itty bitty labbie pittie" who weighs about 35 pounds and is expected to stay between 40-45 pounds. She's as sweet and beautiful as her namesake flower! Dahlia enjoys her mornings with a potty break and some backyard zoomies, followed by a brisk walk where her leash skills are almost perfect, unless a squirrel makes an appearance! She loves exploring trails and parks, making friends with everyone she meets, both human and canine. Dahlia is a bit shy with new people but warms up quickly and loves to swim if there's a creek or river around. She'd make a wonderful camping companion! During the workday, she's happy to snooze by her foster mom's side and enjoys playful zoomie breaks with the four other dogs in her foster home. Dahlia gets along beautifully with small female dogs, a medium male, and a large female, but smaller dogs should be able to set boundaries with her. She adores playing with pinecones and carrying around big sticks!

Ideal Home

Dahlia would thrive in a home with another playful dog, or with opportunities for regular doggy daycare if her people work outside the home. She is a social girl who loves canine companionship. While she could live in a dog-friendly apartment or condo with plenty of exercise, potential adopters with shared walls should consider her initial crying in her crate when left alone. Dahlia has not been tested with cats or children but is thought to do well with respectful children 8 and up.

Ongoing Health

Dahlia is a healthy young pup.

Training & Support

Dahlia is crate and house trained, but she will cry in her crate at first when left alone, though she does settle eventually. This will need to be re-established in her new home. While she settles beautifully in her crate at night without a peep once a routine is established, she would eventually love to share the bed with her humans!
