Kovu

Meet Kovu, a brave and loving German Shepherd/Husky mix with a heart of gold. After surviving an unimaginable past, he's ready to find a very special forever home. Kovu is up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, housebroken, and crate trained. Kovu's journey to healing hasn't been easy. He and his puppies were rescued from an extreme abuse situation, locked in a house for months with no food or water. While Kovu's puppies have found their forever homes, Kovu still needs more help with human socialization. With the love and patience of his foster, he has made incredible progress—but he's still looking for that one special person who can continue helping him trust the world again.

Ideal Home

Kovu thrives in the company of other friendly, well-socialized dogs who can help him continue building confidence. He has no experience with children and would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children or no children at all. Kovu has no cat experience, so a cat-free home is recommended. He needs a home where his humans are patient and willing to let him set the pace.

Training & Support

Kovu is housebroken and crate trained. He enjoys playing tag with his favorite humans once he's comfortable and is treat-motivated. He can be cautious with people and is not a snuggly dog, but he enjoys playtime. He is generally a quiet and calm presence in the home, only vocalizing at dinner time or when excited to go outside.
