Shelby, a 6-month-old spayed female Shepherd/Hound/Terrier mix, is a delightful bundle of energy and affection, weighing 39 pounds and expected to reach a large size when fully grown. She has a long, lanky body that adds to her unique charm. Shelby and her mom and sister arrived as strays at a shelter in Texas and were rescued by us, spending 40 days before their journey to Washington. She has truly blossomed in her foster home and is now ready to find her forever family. Shelby is a happy, goofy, and affectionate puppy with a playful spirit and a deep connection to her people. She's curious about the world, eager to learn, and brings joy to every moment.

Shelby would thrive in an active home that enjoys a dog's companionship and attention. She needs a family that is patient with puppy training and wants an affectionate family member to include in their adventures, whether it's hiking, walking, playing in the yard, or simply spending quality time together.

Training & Support
Shelby is a typical puppy and will benefit from continued basic training. She has a good foundation, already knowing "sit" and walking nicely on a harness. She plays well with toys and bones and would likely enjoy scent-based activities. While she shows no true resource guarding, mild growling with her sister has been noted, likely due to puppy competition for attention, and she would benefit from a slow feeder for meals. She is in the process of house training, showing subtle cues when she needs to go out, and with consistency, she is expected to master this quickly. She tolerates crating but prefers to be near her people and other dogs and should not be crated excessively.

Transporation
Shelby is currently in a foster home in Washougal, Washington, and is available for meet and greets. Transports run every few weeks and she will be on the next available transport once approved. Transport is included in the adoption donation.
