Huey is a handsome, athletic, and affectionate 2-year-old dog, estimated to be a Labrador mix. He's a mid-sized boy at 56 lbs with wonderfully expressive ears that seem to catch every sound. Huey has been living in a foster home, which has allowed him to master essential skills for home life, making him ready for his forever family. He's incredibly smart, motivated, and thrives with confident leadership and clear boundaries. Huey is house-trained, crate-trained, and enjoys being a quiet shadow, close to his people. He also rides well in the car and is always up for an adventure, big or small.
Ideal Home
Huey would love a home with a yard where he can run and play freely. Apartment living is not ideal for him, as he needs space to stretch his legs and prefers not to have frequent potty breaks on leash in busy areas. While he has lived happily with children and other dogs in the past, Huey is seeking a home without resident children, as he prefers a more peaceful environment.
Ongoing Health
Huey's health is up to date with all vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, and flea/heartworm prevention. He has no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
Huey is house-trained and crate-trained. He responds well to boundaries and clear expectations. A common behavior Huey exhibits is resource guarding around food when other dogs are present. His foster family has managed this successfully by feeding him in his crate and not offering table scraps. This behavior is easily managed with consistent routine and can be eliminated in a home without other dogs.
