Marie

Marie is a pint-sized pocket sweetheart with an adorable, quirky personality. She's not much bigger than a flea, but we love Marie! Her nickname is Macaroni Marie, and who doesn't love macaroni? She loves lounging on the sofa and exploring on walks, with potential to be a great hiking buddy. Marie loves tennis balls, especially three at a time! She knows her name and loves when you call her... MAAARIEEEE! She has bursts of energy that quickly fizzle into lounge mode. Marie loves music and dancing; she's a big Macarena fan. She also loves watching TV, and Everybody Loves Raymond is her favorite show.

Ideal Home

Marie can share spaces with cats. While she's unsure about dogs, calm ones that ignore her might be possible companions, as long as they don't get near her things. She guards her bones but is learning to share. Because she can be mouthy at play and doesn't know her strength, children 10+ are recommended. Marie is very loving once she has "interviewed" you and approved of the snacks you offer, after which it's all-day cuddle time.

Ongoing Health

Marie came in super thin and super hungry and is still working on gaining weight. She is spayed.

Training & Support

Marie is house and crate trained. She knows "sit" and is learning other basic commands. Leash walking was new to her, but she's getting the hang of it. She is learning about other dogs, and we think she could do well in a home with another low-energy dog. While she takes a moment to warm up to men, it's only for a second before she's fine.
