About Jameson
Jameson is a sweet, goofy, and incredibly adoptable boy who has been with us for a year, and we're still hoping to find his perfect match! He was saved from a local shelter where he was listed as too scared.
Jameson is a survivor! He incredibly beat distemper as a puppy, a very rare feat. As a result, his teeth are a bit more worn than typical for his age, and he has some minor neurological traits. You'll notice his tongue often sticks out a little, and while he tries his best, he can struggle with navigating stairs.
He's a high-energy dog who loves to play with other dogs and chase lizards in the yard. Jameson does well with other large dogs and enjoys a good romp with a smaller neighbor dog along the fence. He might be okay in a home with small dogs, though we haven't had a chance to test this. He walks well on a leash with minimal pulling and has excellent recall, especially for a husky! He's fine in a crate but would prefer not to be confined, thriving in a yard where he can entertain himself independently.
Jameson has made fantastic progress with minor resource-guarding issues related to treats. After one incident, he attended a board and train program and has been incident-free since. With a heads-up, he now allows his foster to take things from him without any problems. He's highly motivated by food and treats, making positive reinforcement an excellent training tool. His trainer noted that Jameson is a sweet boy who tries hard. Patience is key, as his neurological differences can sometimes affect his response time to commands like "sit" or "down." He might need a moment to get his body into the most comfortable position, but he is always obeying. While easily distracted, a gentle reminder is all it takes to get him back on track. He's never been sassy or difficult.
Jameson is affectionate and loves to cuddle once he gets to know you. He's done well with teenagers and new strangers. He's also quite vocal and enjoys "singing the husky song," especially around people and cars. He needs an active person who is also patient and understanding of his unique needs. A home with one or more other active dogs would be ideal to help him burn energy. If you're looking for a fun-loving adventure buddy, Jameson is your guy!

Training & Support
