Meet Cody! 🐾

Cody is a handsome Golden Retriever searching for a very special forever home where he can truly thrive. He came back to Tattered Paws for a fresh start after his previous adopter returned him. Unfortunately, he didn’t receive the structure he needed in his first home, which led to a bite history. The good news is that Cody has already made great strides! He completed a board-and-train program and is currently with a dedicated foster who continues to work with a professional trainer. He’s smart, eager to learn, and loves staying active. With the right guidance, he has so much potential to live a happy, balanced life.

Ideal Home

Cody will need an experienced, committed adopter who can provide structure, leadership, and ongoing training. This includes a commitment to working with a trainer and continuing Cody’s training. He requires an active lifestyle with at least 1.5 hours of daily exercise and enrichment. Cody cannot live in a home with children. He also cannot live with other dogs unless the adopter is highly experienced with behavioral cases.

Cody is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Cody has a bite history due to not receiving enough structure in his previous home. He has completed a board-and-train program and continues to work with a professional trainer. He is eager to learn and has a lot of potential with consistent training and guidance. Adopters must be committed to continuing his training.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• Adopters must agree to the Tattered Paws contract, which requires that Cody be returned to the rescue if the adoption does not work out for any reason.
• Under no circumstances may the adopter euthanize Cody without first contacting the rescue.
