Hi there! My name is Darren, but my foster mom calls me Dixon. I'm a 55lb Lab Retriever Mix with an estimated birthday of November 25, 2024. My foster mom says I deserved a fresh start, and I think she's right. Thanks to her and the great folks at Sunnyside Street Dogs and Pooch Manor, I got a second chance at life, and every day I try my hardest to show them they made the right decision. When I first arrived, I was a bit scared, but my foster mom gave me space and quiet company, and I soon felt safe enough to explore and even enjoy a good nap on a real dog bed. Now, I've settled in beautifully! I love the other dogs here, especially my younger best friend, and even the older dog humors me sometimes. The kids are wonderful, and I adore them right back. I'm still working on making friends with the cat, but I'm hopeful! I'm a smart boy, too! I know how to sit and shake, and I have a special trick called "Pray" that melts everyone's hearts. I love nudging my foster mom's arm for attention, and she always tells me what a sweet boy I am. My skin is still healing, and I get medicated baths to help my fur grow back – my foster mom says I look like a little werewolf, but her massages make up for it! I'm kennel trained and actually love my kennel; it's my safe place where I get treats and praise. Most of all, I'm just looking for a family to call my own, a place where I'll be cherished forever. If you have another playful dog for me to wrestle with, that would be icing on the cake! I've survived the hardest part of my journey, and now all I need is someone to give me the happy ending I've been waiting for. Could that someone be you?
