Sammy

Sammy is a handsome 2-year-old blue Doberman Pinscher who is looking for his forever home. He was initially a rescue-only case at his previous shelter because his playful energy was a bit too much for that environment. Sammy lived with a family that included five children (ages 6, 4, 3, and a newborn) and a Dalmatian. We believe Sammy would thrive in a calmer setting where his youthful exuberance isn't constantly amplified. He enjoys playtime and would do well with another large dog, provided that dog has a more mellow temperament. Sammy is already house-trained and used to a crate, doing well when left alone. He's also a great traveler and was a perfect gentleman on his 3-hour journey to us, sleeping soundly. Sammy is not a resource guarder and is happy to share his food and toys.

Ideal Home

Sammy would do best with active adults who have a securely fenced yard. This will give him the space he needs to burn off energy and stay stimulated.

Ongoing Health

Sammy is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Sammy is still learning to manage his enthusiastic play style and mouthiness. He needs an owner who can provide consistent training to help him understand appropriate boundaries and expectations.
