Meet Sky! She's a beautiful, gentle, and loyal 4-year-old Staffordshire Terrier/Red Heeler mix, weighing about 60 pounds. Sky loves to be by your side and walks wonderfully on a leash without pulling. She's also leash-trained, crate-trained, and fully house-trained, making her an easy addition to a loving home. Sky is remarkably calm around other animals and doesn't react to cats or squirrels on walks, making her a pleasure to take anywhere. She can be a little shy with strangers at first, but once she feels safe, her sweet and affectionate nature truly shines. Sky was rescued from the streets of Houston, Texas, along with her siblings after they were abandoned as puppies. Thanks to her rescue, she's discovered the joy of love and security and is now ready to find a forever family that will provide her with the stable, patient, and loving home she deserves. If you're looking for a calm, faithful companion for life's quiet moments, Sky might be your perfect match.
Ideal Home
Sky would thrive in a home with families who enjoy outdoor activities and have a fenced backyard. We are seeking adopters with an open mind and understanding of the needs of rescued street animals, who require protection and education. Experience in dog behavior and training is a plus, as is high tolerance and patience for rescued animals.
Ongoing Health
Sky has completed her spay/neuter surgery and received her DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, as well as Bordetella. She has been dewormed and tested negative for heartworm, and she comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
While Sky is generally well-behaved, adopters should be aware that she is NOT house-trained. Our rescue team works hard to rehabilitate our animals, but due to the number of pets in foster care, house-training each one is an impossible task. Patience and a willingness to continue her training will be key to her success.
