A little about them

Claire is an auburn-haired, happy-go-lucky Cocker Spaniel who loves playing, people, and other dogs. At 30 pounds, she is a solid girl who enjoys positioning herself right in front of you—and may occasionally give you something to trip over. She would be a wonderful match for an active family with children.

Ideal Home

Claire is friendly with people, dogs, and children. She is still learning that her owner will come back when out of sight. When left home alone, she may cry and whine for about 30 minutes before settling, so shared walls or noise-sensitive neighbors may not be ideal. She would much prefer sleeping next to you in bed.

Ongoing Health

Claire is heartworm positive and needs to complete treatment. CSRA/SA pays for her treatment, which must take place with one of their area veterinarians in the Austin or San Antonio area. During the several-week treatment period, she will need to avoid activities that raise her heart rate.

Training & Support

Claire is crate trained, although she does not necessarily enjoy being in her crate. Her treatment period can provide valuable cuddle and bonding time.
