Rufus has the kindest eyes and a scruffy face that will make you want to scoop him up and tell him everything is going to be okay. This 2-year-old, neutered Yorkie/Lhasa Apso mix is about 15 lbs and is currently underweight, expected to reach a healthy 18-20 lbs. He was found abandoned and alone for several days but has remained incredibly sweet, trusting, and eager to love. Rufus is a true "Velcro dog" who loves being by your side, whether curled up on the couch or following you from room to room. He's affectionate, gentle, and has a happy, easygoing nature. Rufus is wonderful with other dogs and respects their space, but he doesn't rely on canine companionship and would also be happy as an only dog with plenty of human attention. He walks beautifully on a leash, doesn't pull, and shows no reactivity. Rufus also rides well in the car and enjoys watching the world go by. He is crate trained and settles quietly. Like many young dogs, he sometimes expresses himself with gentle play nibbles and is still working on house training, though this is expected to improve with his neutering and a consistent routine. Rufus has a moderate energy level, enjoying walks and adventures, but also loves cuddling up for naps. Above all, he wants to be part of the family and forms deep bonds. As a Yorkie/Lhasa Apso mix, he will likely need regular grooming to maintain his coat.
